AI Art Is Boring AF.
Gonna go against the grain here.
I’ve been seeing way too much AI art generated through Midjourney and similar tools, and honestly, I’m sick and tired of it. Everyone’s making AI animations, photos, and videos. Sure, it looks slick at first glance, but it’s boring, predictable, and often just plain creepy. The weird movements, bad lip-syncing, and strange glitches, like sunglasses fused into the side of someone’s face, are hard to ignore.
It’s like a bad dream. Lucid, trippy, and totally illogical.
I’m not trying to stir the pot, and I respect artists who are exploring and experimenting with AI. But from my point of view, I’m just tired of it. It was eye-opening at first to see how far AI has come, but over time it’s become monotonous, repetitive, and boring. Coming back from Art Basel in Hong Kong a few months ago really helped solidify my stance on human-made art versus AI-generated work.
There’s a quality to AI-generated content that’s hard to describe, but I hate it. It feels soulless. It’s boring. It’s creepy.
And no, this isn’t a rant because I’m afraid AI will take my job. In fact, I’ve never felt threatened by it. I don’t believe AI will impact the kind of work I do as a human artist. There will always be a market for AI-generated content, and there will always be a market for human-crafted art. People will always crave something real, something with soul.
At the end of the day, storytelling and ideas still matter most. I don’t care how polished an animation, photo, or illustration looks. If there’s no strong idea or story behind it, it’s useless. It has no value. No one will care.
So for the love of humanity, stop flooding the world with garbage AI content. We don’t need more wasted energy cranking out soulless work nobody asked for.
